Southern African Heat Low

a low-pressure atmospheric region over the southern part of Africa, between the equator and the tropic of Capricorn. The low, which results from marked surface heating in the low latitudes, belongs to a zone of lows that extends parallel to the equator. The Southern African Heat Low is one of the centers of atmospheric activity that occur in the southern hemisphere, primarily in the summer.
