Sovetskaia Adzhariia
(Soviet Adzharia), a republic-wide Russian-language newspaper of the Adzhar ASSR. Founded in 1921, the newspaper was originally called Izvestiia Voenno-revoli-utsionnogo komiteta goroda Batuma i Politotdela II-i Krasnoi armii (News of the Military Revolutionary Committee of the City of Batum and of the Political Department of the Eleventh Red Army). It was renamed several times and assumed its present name in 1963. The newspaper is published in Batumi five times a week. Circulation, 25,000 (1975).
