Sovetskaia Bibliografiia 

(Soviet Bibliography), a leading specialized scholarly periodical dealing with bibliography; an organ of the All-Union Book Chamber. Sovetskaia bibliografiia has been published in Moscow since 1933 as a collection of articles and other written materials. Since 1959 it has been published six times a year. The journal prints articles on the theory, history, and methods of bibliography, on the bibliographical work of library and bibliographical institutions and information centers, on the standardization of terminology, and on the improvement of the methods of library and bibliographical classification.

The journal systematically publishes reviews of new indexes of works on different branches of knowledge and information on library and bibliographical work in the USSR and abroad. The sixth number of each year contains indexes of the articles and materials for the past year. A cumulative index of the journal’s contents from 1933 to 1970 was published in 1972. Circulation, 8,000 (1975).
