Sovetskaia Geologiia 

(Soviet Geology), a scientific journal published by the Ministry of Geology of the USSR. Sovetskaia geologiia has been published in Moscow since 1933. It was published under the name Problemy sovetskoi geologii (Problems of Soviet Geology) until 1938 and in the form of a collection under the name Sovetskaia geologiia from 1938 to 1958. Since 1958, Sovetskaia geologiia has been published monthly.

Sovetskaia geologiia prints articles on theoretical and applied problems in the geological sciences and on the development of raw mineral resources in the USSR. It discusses the primary results of scientific research in regional geology, tectonics, stratigraphy, paleontology, petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry, the geology of mineral deposits, hydrogeology, geophysics, the economics and techniques of geological prospecting operations, and the application of mathematical methods and modern computer technology in geology.
