Sovetskaia Kirgiziia
(Soviet Kirghizia), a republic-wide Russian-language daily newspaper of the Kirghiz SSR, founded in 1925. The first issue appeared under the name Batratskaiapravda (Farmhands’ Truth). The newspaper was later called Krest’ianskii put’ (The Peasant Path) and assumed its present name in 1927. It is published in Frunze. Circulation, 132,000 (1975).
