Sovetskaia Litva 

(Soviet Lithuania), a republic-wide Russian-language newspaper of the Lithuanian SSR. The first issue, under the name Truzhenik (The Toiler), came out in Kaunas on July 10, 1940. The newspaper was not published from July 22, 1941, to Sept. 26, 1944. It resumed publication under the name Sovetskaia Litva and is now published in Vilnius six times a week. Circulation, 70,000 (1975).
