Soviet Marder
a variety of rabbit bred for its pelt, developed in the Armenian SSR in 1936-40. The fur of the Soviet Marder is thick and brown with darker spots on the head, tail, and extremities (similar to that of the marten). The body length of the adult rabbit is 47-50 cm; the weight is 3.8-4.5 kg. There are from five to seven young per litter. The pelts of the Soviet Marder are used as such or as imitations of more valuable furs. The Soviet Marder is raised primarily in the Armenian SSR. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
