Sparagmite Series
a series of Upper Precambrian rocks of the Scandinavian Peninsula, including sparagmites (medium- and coarse-grained sandstones, graywackes, quartzites, conglomerates, and breccias consisting of sharply angular fragments of feldspar, quartz, and shale). In a complexly structured sparagmite series represented by glacial conglomerates (tillites), sandstones, shales, and, less frequently, limestones, sparagmites constitute a significant part of the cross section and form strata, each having its own name (for example, Br0thum sparagmite and the Moelv sparagmite). The sparagmite series corresponds to the upper part of the Riphean of the stratigraphic chart of the Upper Precambrian of the USSR. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
