Spelling, Aaron (1923– ) television producer; born in Dallas, Texas. A television actor in the 1950s, he began producing Zane Grey Theatre in 1960, then joined Danny Thomas to produce The Mod Squad (1968–73). Continuing with police shows, he introduced Charlie's Angels in 1976. During the 1980s his company produced the series, Dynasty, and movies of the week for all three networks, making him one of the most successful and prosperous producers in television history.
