Spero, Nancy (1926– ) painter; born in Cleveland, Ohio (wife of Leon Golub). She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago (1945–49), in Paris (1950–51), worked in Italy (1956–57) and Paris (1959–64), and returned to live in New York City. A founder of Women Artists in Revolution in 1969, she used paper scrolls for a feminist expressionistic collage in Tortures of Women (1976). |
