Spinney Mountain State Park Location: From Colorado Springs take US 24 west for 55 miles over Wilkerson Pass. Turn left on Park County Road 23 and go 2.8 miles, then right on County Road 59 and continue on to park entrance. Facilities: 20 picnic sites (é), trails, 2 boat ramps, boat rental, restrooms (é). Activities: Boating, fishing, sailboarding, jet skiing, picnicking, bicycling, hunting (with restrictions), interpretive programs. Special Features: The park's reservoir is a Gold Medal Fishery, known for cutthroat, rainbow, brown trout, and northern pike. Adjacent to Eleven Mile State Park (see separate entry). This is a day-use park (no camping) that is open from approximately May to mid-November.
