Spitler Woods State Natural Area Location: 8 miles southeast of Decatur and 0.5 miles east of Mount Zion, off IL 121. Facilities: Youth group campsites, restrooms, picnic areas, nature preserve, trails. Activities: Youth group camping, hiking. Special Features: Two-thirds of the area is a dedicated nature preserve containing one of the few remaining stands of climax-growth timber in central Illinois.
