Sweet Freedom does cut calories (to around 150) by replacing much of the sugar with the safe artificial sweetener Splenda and several sugar alcohols. In the case of Splenda, we found an opening for a versatile sweetener that appealed to the desire for a healthy lifestyle as opposed to diet, which was where most of the other positionings were at the time.
