a metal-cutting machine tool designed to grind splined articles. External splines (on shafts) are ground to the minor diameter and bearing sides; internal splines (on sleeves) are ground to the major diameter and bearing sides. The machining may be done by a single profiled or flat abrasive disk or by a set of several disks. The most efficient method is to grind the entire spline space with a single specially shaped disk.
