Split Rock Lighthouse State Park Location: 20 miles northeast of Two Harbors on Highway 61. Activities: Camping, fishing (lake, river, and stream), hiking, bicycling, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, lighthouse tours. Special Features: Park is located on the North shore of Lake Superior and is best known for its historic lighthouse. For 59 years, the keepers at Split Rock warned ships away from the rocks and treacherous North Shore with the lighthouse's 370,000-candlepower beacon.
