(Sports in the USSR), a monthly illustrated publication of the journal Sovetskii Soiuz (Soviet Union). Published in Moscow since 1963 in Russian, Hungarian, English, Spanish, German, and French, Sport v SSSR acquaints readers with developments in physical culture and sports in the USSR, emphasizes the social significance of sports in modern society, and discusses questions relating to Olympic competition. The publication also reviews the most important all-Union and international sporting events and carries illustrated feature stories on leading Soviet athletes. Sport v SSSR is sold in the USSR and abroad. Total circulation, 140,000 (1975).
