Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

Location: 15 miles west of Las Vegas on State Route 159 (the Blue Diamond Highway).
Facilities: Historic sites, visitor center, picnic area, group use area, restrooms.
Activities: Guided tours, living history demonstrations, cultural events, nature study.
Special Features: Historic Spring Mountain Ranch is located within Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, beneath the cliffs of the Wilson Range. The mountain springs provided water for the Paiute and later brought mountain men and early settlers to the area. The area was developed into a combination working ranch and luxury retreat by a string of owners, including Chester Lauck of the comedy team "Lum and Abner," actress Vera Krupp, and Howard Hughes.
