St. Clair

 

a lake in North America, in the Great Lakes system, situated between Lakes Huron and Erie. Lake St. Clair forms a border between the USA and Canada. Its area is 1,200 sq km, and its depth 7 m. A fairway 7.6 m deep extends along the lake from the mouth of the St. Clair River to the source of the Detroit River and forms a link of the Great Lakes waterway. The cities of Detroit (USA) and Windsor (Canada) are situated at the source of the Detroit River.
