St. Nazaire 

a city in western France, in Loire-Atlantique Department, situated on the estuary of the Loire River. Population, 69,000 (1975). The outport of the city of Nantes. St. Nazaire has the largest shipyard in the country—the Chantiers de l’Atlantique, where the passenger ships Normandie and France were built. The city also has aviation, chemical, and food industries.
