Stanislav Vasilevich Emelianov

    0.01 sec.
Emel’ianov, Stanislav Vasil’evich

Born May 18, 1929, in Voronezh. Soviet scientist in the field of automated control. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1970). Became a member of the CPSU in 1962.

In 1952, Emerianov graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute. He created a new line of development in the theory of automated control—the theory of systems with variable structure. Such systems are used to control nonstationary units, as in building movement control systems of aircraft and in the automatic landing system of the supersonic passenger aircraft Tu-144. Systems with variable structure are also used in the metallurgical, chemical, and food industries. Emel’ianov is engaged in the elaboration of methodological principles for control of developing systems. He was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1972.
