New observations of a bright star designated MWC560--first listed in the Mount Wilson star catalog nearly 50 years ago but never studied in detail now--reveal an unusual pattern of brightening, apparently caused by a rapid but erratic ejection of gas from the system.
Requiring no more than power and an occasional clock update from the host spacecraft, the ISC initializes upon startup, acquires and identifies stars from its own star catalog, and uses its "lost in space" algorithms to determine the direction in which it is pointing.
