State Seal of Quality 

in the USSR, since 1967 the mark placed on’consumer and industrial-technical goods of high quality. It is placed directly on the commodity or on the packaging or wrapping, as well as in the documentation accompanying the merchandise and on tags and labels (regardless of the trademark). The right to use the state seal of quality is granted to enterprises by ministries (or departments) for a period of two to three years on the basis of the results of a state appraisal of the quality of their product.
