Stende 

an urban-type settlement in Talsi Raion, Latvian SSR. Stende has a railroad station on the Ventspils-Riga line. Enterprises in the settlement include a logging and timber distribution establishment, a mixed-feed plant, and enterprises servicing the railroad industry. A state selection station is located nearby.
