Stettin, Peace of (1570)
a treaty concluded between Sweden and Denmark, in the city of Stettin in Pomerania (now Szczecin, Polish People’s Republic). The Peace of Stettin ended the Seven Years’ War of the North (1563–70) and reestablished the former boundaries between Sweden and the Danish-Norwegian kingdom. In return for an indemnity, Denmark gave back to Sweden the port of Älvsborg, which had been captured during the war. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
