Stine, Charles

Stine, Charles (Milton Altland) (1882–1954) chemical engineer; born in Norwich, Conn. He worked for DuPont from 1907 until his retirement in 1945. He conducted research into dye stuffs, explosives, propellants, paints, varnishes, stains, and various organic chemicals. He developed processes for manufacture of nitric acid and enamels.
