Struever, Stuart (McKee) (1931– ) archaeologist; born in Peru, Ill. He taught at Northwestern University and the University of California. An authority on the "new" archaeology known for his work on field methods, research design, and the origins of cultivation in prehistoric North America, he directed excavations at the Koster site in Illinois.
