Stryker, Roy Emerson

Stryker, Roy Emerson (1893–1975) government official; born in Grand Junction, Colo. An economist, he was chief of the Farm Security Administration's (FSA) historical section (1935–43), where he developed an outstanding team of photographers to document harsh conditions in rural America. He made sure that FSA photos were widely used in books and periodicals and included in major museum exhibits. He directed a documentary project for Standard Oil of New Jersey from 1943 to 1950.
