Subcompact Car

the conventional term for passenger cars with an engine displacement of up to 0.85 liters and a weight of up to 700 kg. Such cars are intended mainly for individual use and partly for business use (medical and postal service). Most subcompact cars hold four passengers and have a top speed of about 110 km/hr. The time for acceleration to 100 km/hr from a standing start (with manual transmission) along a straight, horizontal road with an improved surface is 28–30 sec (with a driver and one passenger). The average fuel consumption per 100 km is 6–7 liters.
