Dr Derek James said Taylor Bromby had suffered a subdural haemorrhage, retinal haemorrhages to the eyes and a swollen brain, and while this was a "strong pointer" towards shaking, he said that position had 1violence has been used in order to cause the triad in this case without being able to find any evidence of it".
The cause of death was a subdural haemorrhage consistent with a fall, but the coroner recorded an open verdict as there was no explanation to how it happened.
The court heard three pathologists have been involved in the case, with Mr Greer insisting preliminary findings made no reference to subdural haemorrhage.
