Sukhoi Log

a city under oblast jurisdiction and administrative center of Sukhoi Log Raion, Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Pyshma River of the Ob’ River basin. Railroad station (Kunara) on the Kamensk-Ural’skii-Alapaevsk line, 115 km east of Sverdlovsk. Population, 30,000 (1974).

Sukhoi Log has combines for the manufacture of cement and asbestos and cement products, plants for the production of fireproof products, secondary nonferrous metals, and machinery, and factories for the production of parchment, matches and labels, and cardboard for packaging. It also has enterprises for the repair of farm machinery and equipment for cement plants. The city has an evening industrial technicum and a medical school.
