    0.01 sec.
Suntar-Khaiata

a mountain range in the Yakut ASSR and Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. The Suntar-Khaiata Range forms the watershed of the Aldan and Indigirka rivers and the coastal rivers of the Sea of Okhotsk. It is 450 km long and has elevations to 2,959 m, at Mount Mus-Khaia. It is composed of effusive rocks and granites. The glaciated area is 204 sq km; a belt of taryny—a type of Aufeis—covering about 800 sq km is found at lower elevations. The lower slopes are covered by thin larch forests, and mountain tundra is found at higher elevations.
