Suomenselkä

a ridge in central Finland. The highest elevation is 351 m. Suomenselkä forms the divide between the river basins associated with the Gulf of Bothnia and Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. The ridge is composed of crystalline rocks overlain by glacial deposits. There are numerous lakes and bogs, and coniferous and mixed forests are found in the area.
