Suresnes (sürĕn`), city (1990 pop. 36,950), Hauts-de-Seine dept., N central France, a residential and industrial suburb of Paris. Its manufactures include automobiles, aeronautic equipment, and pharmaceuticals. In 1593 a conference in Suresnes between Catholics and Protestants led to the adoption of Catholicism by Henry IV. In one section of the city is Mt. Valérien, which has a commanding view of the Parisian countryside and a fort that has been crucial in the defense of Paris.
Suresnes a city in France, in the Hauts-de-Seine Department, a western suburb of Paris; situated on the left bank of the Seine River. Population, 41,000 (1968).
