Svetozarevo

Svetozarevo 

(until 1946, Jagodina; renamed in honor of Svetozar Marković), a city in Yugoslavia, in the Socialist Republic of Serbia. Located on the Belica River, a tributary of the Morava. Population, 29,000 (1972). Svetozarevo has a food-processing industry (sugar refining, vegetable and fruit canning, meat-packing, and brewing). There are enterprises for the production of cables, instruments, electrical engineering products, furniture, ceramics, and bricks. The faculty of mechanical and electrical engineering of the University of Belgrade is in Svetozarevo.
