Sviataia Anna Trough
a trenchlike depression between the Barents and Kara seas, southeast of the Franz Josef Land. The length of the trough is approximately 600 km; depths range to 500–600 m in the north and 300–400 m in the south. The relief at the bottom of the trough becomes lower as Novaia Zemlia is approached. In the south the trough is separated from the Vostochno-Novozemel’skii Trough by the Brusilov Rise. The Sviataia Anna Trough was named for the ship used by G. L. Brusilov in his last expedition. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
