Swallow Falls State Park

Location: In Garrett County, 9 miles northwest of Oakland on Swallow Falls Rd.
Facilities: 65 improved campsites (3 with full hookups; @di), 3 youth group sites, modern bathhouses (é), picnic area (é), pavilion, playground, hiking trails.
Activities: Camping, freshwater fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, interpretive programs (seasonal).
Special Features: This mountain park contains some of Maryland's most spectacular scenery. The wild and scenic Youghiogheny River flows along the park's borders, passing through shaded rocky gorges and creating rippling rapids. Park scenery also includes Muddy Creek Falls, a 63-foot waterfall.
