Swanson Reservoir State Recreation Area Location: 2 miles west of Trenton on US 34, on the Republican River. Facilities: 204 campsites (54 sites are camping pads with electrical hookups), modern restrooms as well as vault toilets, showers, picnic areas, 16 picnic shelters, concession (food, groceries, gas, supplies, water ski rentals), 7 boat ramps, mooring dock, 2 fish cleaning stations. Activities: Camping, boating (all types), fishing, hunting, water-skiing. Special Features: The largest of the four reservoirs in southwestern Nebraska, Swanson is known for its numerous walleye and growing population of black bass. Trophy-size northern pike can also be found here.
