Location: 15 miles west of Atlanta, off I-20 exit 44.
Facilities: 11 picnic shelters, group shelter, playgrounds, hiking trails (9 miles), lake, boat ramps, 2 fishing docks, canoe and fishing boat rentals, visitor center and museum.
Activities: Camping, boating (no gas motors), lake and stream fishing, hiking, interpretive programs.
Special Features: Only minutes from downtown Atlanta, Sweetwater Creek is a peaceful tract of wilderness with miles of trails, shady streams, and 215-acre George Sparks Reservoir. The site includes the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned down during the Civil War.
