18, the Network-to-Network FR/ATM SVC Service Interworking Implementation Agreement, defines switched virtual connection (SVC) and soft permanent virtual connections (SPVC) service interworking between Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technologies at the Network-to-Network Interface (NNI). Point-to-multipoint (multicast) signaling permits the creation of ATM switched virtual connections which support one-to-many ATM connections, sending data to all intended recipients at once rather than duplicating point-to-point connections for each. 0/SPANS Switched Virtual Connection (SVC) Signaling and Permanent Virtual Channels (PVCs) through local management and AToM MIB (RFC 1695). |
