| Currently, PC main memory is transitioning from EDO (Extended Data Out) memory to SDRAM (66MHz and 100MHz) with Synchronous DRAM expected to dominate the market during 1999 and the first half of 2000. The new chip, also known as low-power DDR (double data rate) or synchronous DRAM, will be more cost effective than other high density mobile solutions and used for a wide range of advanced handset applications as well as for digital still cameras, portable media players and portable gaming products. The Tutorial, presented by experts Desi Rhoden of Inphi Corporation, who serves as JEDEC Committee Chairman Memory Products, and Dong Yang Lee of Samsung Semiconductor, who also works as JEDEC Committee Chairman DRAM Timing and Parametrics, will provide a detailed interactive introduction to users of Synchronous DRAM with emphasis on DDR1 and DDR2. |
