A fuel that is artificially formulated and manufactured; frequently derived from fossil fuels that are less convenient or environmentally undesirable for direct use. Also known as synfuel.

The Air Force will use the purchased RenJet synthetic fuel for performance and emissions testing in a turbine engine.
