Synthomycin

(also chloramphenicol), a mixture (racemate) of the optical isomers of the antibiotic levomycetin (chloramphenicol). It is used externally in the form of a 1-percent, 5-percent, or 10-percent liniment (emulsion) to treat pyinflammatory processes.
