Téviec

Téviec 

an island near the Quiberon Peninsula in Brittany, France. A Mesolithic settlement (a heap of waste shells) and burial ground of the Tardenoisian culture on Téviec were studied by the French archaeologists M. and S. J. Péquart in 1928 and 1929. The burial ground consists of 18 graves, in which were found the skeletons of seven men, eight women, and eight children. There were two flint arrowheads lodged in the spine of one of the male skeletons. A rich assortment of artifacts buried with the dead included perforated shells and implements of stone and bone. Anthropologically, the people of Téviec were ancient Europeoids, representatives of the Cro-Magnon type, in the broad sense of the term.
