Tartas 

a river in Novosibirsk Oblast, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Om’ River of the Irtysh River basin. The Tartas is 566 km long and drains an area of 16,200 sq km. It is fed mainly by snow. High water lasts from April through June. The mean flow rate 26 km from the mouth is 20.2 cu m per sec. The river freezes in late October or early November and opens up in late April or early May. It is used for floating timber. The Tartas is navigable as far as the landing of Severnoe, a distance of 370 km.
