TCO
(1) (Total Cost of Ownership) The cost of using a computer. It includes the cost of the hardware, software and upgrades as well as the cost of the inhouse staff and/or consultants that provide training and technical support. See ROI.

(2) Refers to the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees, which certifies electronic devices that meet safety standards. TCO'92 certification requires greatly reduced magnetic field emission, energy efficiency as well as fire and electrical safety. TCO'95 added ergonomic and ecological requirements dealing with eyestrain and the use of certain materials in the manufacture and packaging. TCO'99 tightened the requirements of TCO'95.
