TM1

(Tables Manager 1) A multidimensional analysis program for DOS and Windows from IBM. It allows data to be viewed in up to eight dimensions. The data are kept in a database, and the formulas are kept in a spreadsheet, which is used as a viewer into the database. TM1 makes it easy to display different slices of the data, and it is designed to import and cross tab large amounts of data. In 2003, the company released TM1 Web, an application that allows users to create real-time, Web-based worksheets directly from within Microsoft Excel.

TM1 was originally developed by Sinper Corporation, which was acquired by Applix, Inc. and then merged with Cognos, Inc. In 2008, IBM acquired Cognos.
