TPF

(Transaction Processing Facility) An operating system for IBM mainframes specialized for large transaction processing systems such as airline reservations. TPF supports thousands of terminals with a typical response time of two to three seconds. It was formerly called Airline Control Program/Transaction Processing (ACP/TP).

It was formed last year to further TPF development and licensing.
Based on proven acquired technology, this new release paves the way for additional transaction connectors to CA-IDMS/DC, IBM TPF, HP3000 and Fujitsu Siemens BS2000.
With an array of mirrors mimicking one as large as a football field, TPF will be able to actually see planets the size of Earth, a feat never before accomplished.
