Taber, John (1880–1965) U.S. representative; born in Auburn, N.Y. A graduate of Yale, he practiced law and served as a judge in Cayuga, N.Y., before going to the U.S. House of Representatives (Rep., N.Y.; 1923–63) where he chaired the Committee on Appropriations (1949–55).
