Tamisk

a balneological health resort in the Severnaia Osetiia ASSR, located 40 km from Ordzhonikidze. The resort is situated at the foot of the Pastbishchnyi mountain range at an elevation of about 700 m on the Tamisk River (a tributary of the Ardon). Summers are warm, with an average July temperature of 20°C, and winters are mild, with an average January temperature of –4°C. Annual precipitation is approximately 1,040 mm. The resort’s hydrogen sulfide hydrosulfide sulfatic calcium mineral spring water is used for therapeutic baths. Tamisk offers treatment for diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the peripheral nervous system, gynecological disorders, and skin diseases. There are sanatoriums for children and adults.
