Turgovishte 

a city in Bulgaria; administrative center of Turgovishte District. Population, 40,000 (1975). Turgovishte, a transportation junction, produces accumulators and equipment for the food-processing industry. Canned goods and dairy and meat products are produced. There are also enterprises of the woodworking industry.

The second region includes north-eastern Bulgaria, where the cities of Shoumen (Sumnu), Targovishte (Eski Cuma) and Razgrad (Hezargrad) are located, together with the adjacent villages.
While municipalities such as Burgas, Plovdiv, Pleven, Pernik, Stamboliyski, Haskovo, and Targovishte had decrees prohibiting the offering of religious literature "on the streets and at the houses of citizens" or allowing religious literature only from the religious group registered by the municipality, during the reporting period some of these decrees were changed or softened.
Hundreds of people were evacuated across the worst-hit regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Stara Zagora and Shumen.
